Job Vacancy : Systems and IT Co-ordinator

We are looking for a Systems and IT Co-ordinator to run our courses IT and management systems. The main system we use is a management information system that allows staff to register students in the boarding houses, lessons and activities. It is a central part of the courses that allows us to know where each and everyone of the students are throughout the day. Other systems to co-ordinate would be our written report systems and incident reporting.

This position is open for both new and returning staff to apply to.

The Holiday Courses consist of morning classroom teaching (taken by qualified teachers), followed by afternoon activities both sporting and non-sporting (taken by the activity staff) and an evening social programmes (run on a rota basis with all staff). Full day excursions (supported by the activities and pastoral staff) are on a Wednesday and half-day excursions (supported by the teaching and pastoral staff) are on a Saturday. Millfield English Language Holiday Courses are well established and many staff return year after year.

Person Specification

We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic member of staff who has the following attributes:

  • Responsible and hard working nature

  • Enthusiasm and willingness to get involved in all aspects of summer school life

Job Description

As the Systems and IT Co-ordinator you will be responsible for keeping systems running and updated. This will include the management information system, written reporting system (a report is written for every student at the end of their course by teaching, pastoral and activity staff) and incident reporting (for slips, trips, falls and behaviour). These systems all play a crucial role within our courses. A failure in any of these systems could result in the courses running ineffectively.

You will need to have good communication skills with staff in all departments to insure all data is up-to-date. On occasions you may need to deliver training sessions to staff on how to use particular systems and be on hand for any difficulties staff encounter. You are supported by the Operations Manager who is the line manager.

Induction training on how to use and run the systems will be given during induction.

Attendance at all relevant meetings is compulsory.

The course dates for summer 2018 are Sunday 8th July - Sunday 19th August

Induction Training

Compulsory Induction training is immediately prior to the start of the course (paid pro rata).

Contracts

The Systems and IT Co-ordinator contract will initially be for four weeks from the course start date. Additional setup time before the course start date maybe required (paid pro rata). It is possible that the contract could be extended by mutual consent and dependent on student numbers for the duration of the courses.

Time Off

The Systems and IT Co-ordinator will have one day off a week. Special requests for additional time off are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Remuneration

Competitive salary, free food and accommodation, plus holiday pay which is calculated at 12.07%.
